Here is the trailer for my feature. Coming soon on DVD and VOD.
I was hired recently to DP a web spot for LinkedIn. We shot everything in 6 hours in the beautiful Manhattan beach area.
The beach side and roads were insanely foggy when we were shooting and only occasionally you would have little window of no – fog that you could use to take a shot. It was difficult. The weather was overcast when we were inside as well, but the sun came out here and there, which didn’t bother us too much.
(I did not shoot the mini video about Citibank in the very beginning)
1. For the interview, we had 2 Canon 7Ds setup on sticks. The wide with a Canon L lens and the CU was my pretty Nikon 135mm, f2.8.
2. I used the Arri open face with soft boxes for lighting the face and I also had a HMI coming in from the side door. I liked this look / mixing for this interview.
3. For the background table I had a pepper 420 with CTO + diffusion shining on the table.
4. All the outdoor sequences were done hand held on my 7D rig.
# The shot at 2:40. It was on my 135mm. Very tricky focus, I got it perfectly on the first take, the 2nd take wasn’t that great.
Overall, pretty happy and I think this woman sells some good products. Check out her website: http://www.bia-sport.com
Ever since I was a child, I was fascinated with nature and animals. I loved watching Discovery and National Geographic / BBC shows for hours and hours in order to see more of nature. In my childhood, I didn’t get too many opportunities to explore, connect with nature in a major way. My only source of inspiration and guidance were these shows and TV / internet. Just like countless people on Earth, I confess that I love nature and now I want to be an active part of its conservation and promoting good stewardship towards its limitless beauty and gifts. However, just saying that I love nature is not enough. I am starting small by making my films on nature and showcasing different aspects of it to my viewers. In my journey I hope to explore a lot more than I was able to as a child sitting in front of the TV. I also hope that throughout my journey I influence people to take an active part in protecting its resources. It doesn’t matter where you are located or how much resources you have, there something you could do in your surrounding to help nature or show other people the gifts of nature.
I hope to make my first mini doc before Christmas. I am awaiting shipment of my Red Epic camera package and would definitely want to test it out on the first mini doc.
I will be building more and more content in this section as my journey starts and will share. I also donate to shelters / organizations that take care of animals and help nature. I am not associated with any of these organizations / charities. Any donations collected will go 100% to the charities mentioned. If I would be doing any fundraisers for helping shelters / organizations, it would be totally not for profit.
I will see you out on the field some day!
